Samsung began CES, the largest tech show in the world, by unveiling a jumbo TV set. The smart TV market is growing rapidly, with several emerging competitors, and this innovative jumbo model by Samsung is a tough contender in the market.
In the technology Trade show, held last week in Las Vegas, the South Korean giant unveiled the new Micro RGB TV Set. The new model produces richer colours as experts describe it as a turning moment in the jumbo TV set market. Micro RGBs are better than LED TVs as they offer brighter and more accurate colours, and they surpass OLEDs in brighter backlighting.
Compared to traditional LEDs, they use smaller individual red, blue and green LEDs for backlighting instead of white and blue lights in the case of LEDs. However, like the traditional LED sets, in the RGB model, the light is passed through the LCD panel to produce an image on the screen.
The use of tiny multicolour LEDs in the RGB sets, however, enhances the overall Image quality for the user. This innovative model will give Samsung a lead against its competition. The tech giant is already leading in the premium LED sector, but this will help it capture more market share from LG.
Samsung has also strengthened its AI integration. It has already made a mark in the smartphone sector with its AI features, and has now ventured to expand it to home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and televisions. Samsung CEO, TM Roh, stated during the tech show that it has aimed to integrate AI in all its sectors.
During the event, Samsung also unveiled the future of integrating AI in its refrigerators. The Family Hub was the key highlight, which is expected to become stronger with the integration of Google’s Gemini, which will make recognition of items inside the fridge easy for the users.
Other than using AI in home appliances, Samsung also released a new health technology feature in its smartphones that helps users monitor cognitive decline through analysing their sleep and walking patterns.
