A year-round review experience called ‘your year with ChatGPT’ was launched by OpenAI. A recap moment similar to the Spotify Wrap to depict how the users used its services. The feature is, however, available only for eligible users across some regions like the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand.
OpenAI confirmed that the feature was limited and was based on users’ account settings and usage history. It’s available across the free, plus, and pro plans. But only for the users who have enabled the reference saved memory and chat history options, and have also reached a minimum required threshold of conversation activity. The company further clarified that the Enterprise, Team, and Education options are not included for the initial release.
The Artificial intelligence company further clarified that the review was user-centric, and it has been kept lightweight and privacy-forward, as it does not open automatically for the users. It is up to the individual to decide whether to open it when it appears on the home screen of the application.
Similar to Spotify’s Wrap, the review uses playful fonts and patterns to reflect how the users utilised the platform. It also gives personalised “awards” based on the interaction of the users and the chatbot. Known for its creative approach, OpenAI’s review not just shows statistics and information on history but also uses the most searched and read topics into beautiful poems and images to make the year worth reviewing.
The results of the review are designed to feel personal and unique for the users, rather than just analytical data to show who seamlessly fits into different realities. ‘Your Year with ChatGPT’ is available on both the app and web versions of the bot. For eligible Users, they can directly ask ChatGPT to generate the review rather than navigating the entire menu.
