Interview last month Bill Gates shared that AI may replace humans in everything and with the pace of its expansion in every organization the day is not far when it will be more suitable than humans for any job.
But unlike other leaders like OpenAI’s founder Sam Altman and NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang who emphasise the role of AI in coding, the Microsoft co-founder talks about the importance of humans in the coding industry. He said that AI will not be able to completely replace the coders due to it’s lack of precision and problem-solving approach.
He also noted that AI cannot replace biologists but may be of great help in diagnosing disease and conducting targetted trials. The third industry he pointed was the energy sector including nuclear, solar, wind and other forms of energy which according to the 69-year old billionaire is too complex to be automated completely.
Though the degree of its role will be fascinating to see, and many have different opinions on the same it is beyond doubt that AI will significantly impact the future of jobs in the world. With newer variations in AI technology they might even be better than humans at many work.
Earlier on his visit to India, Gates expressed his view on AI stating that it will impact the job market due to its capability to give efficient and analytical solutions. It cannot replace the decision-making and crisis-solving approach of humans.
