Peter Navarro, the Official Trade Advisor to the President of the US, has, in a recent interview, called the BRICS alliance countries “vampires”. The BRICS members include Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Navarro has made critical and controversial claims about India earlier, and seems to be non-stop talking against the BRICS countries.
In the interview with Real America Voice, he said that the BRICS nations will never survive without exporting their products to the United States, and they are like vampires as they take advantage of the US and then make their blood dry with unethical trade practices. He also stated that he has no idea how the BRICS countries were together, as they have been historical enemies and have been known to kill each other. The statements not only show the tone of the US Trade Advisor, but also his flawed and hollow sense of history.
Talking about Russia and China, he talked about how Chinese immigrants are moving illegally into the Siberian region, stating that time will tell how the Russian President copes with this issue. Giving the example of India and China, he said that both countries were at war for years, and China has been known to help Pakistan, and how ships from different countries are moving across the Indian Ocean with the Chinese flag.
He also made controversial statements about Brazil, saying that the socialist policies of the current President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, are bringing the economy down, and the former President is in a cell. Before talking about the BRICS nations, which have earlier been slammed by the US President. Navarro once again said how India was buying the Russian oil and profiting from the companies fueling the war. In a late-night post, he talked about India benefiting from the Russia-Ukraine war and using the tax money of US citizens, which is again boosting India’s revenue, giving it funds to buy oil.
His claims were, however, countered by many users. Who has pointed out that India has clearly stated that the oil imports are strictly for security purposes and crucial for the nation’s safety. Though things seem to be taking a positive turn when Trump and Modi reciprocated the “special bond” between India and the US. The fuel added by Navarro’s latest remark only seems to be triggering the fire.
