As the peace process in Gaza takes a step ahead, the Prime Minister of India welcomed the US President and thanked him for his leadership in solving the Israel-Gaza conflict. The situation in the region is easing as Hamas has released the Israeli hostages.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said that he welcomes efforts to restore peace in the region, as Donald Trump asked Israel to stop bombing in Gaza after Hamas agreed on the terms of the peace deal. This included returning the hostages held by Hamas, and could possibly stop the war that started on 7 October, 2023.
Hamas has declared that it was ready to surrender the hostages and also share power with other Palestinians but the other parts of the plan will have to wait until it discusses the same among Palestinians. The 20-point peace plan was prepared by the Trump administration to stop the conflict.
After PM Modi endorsed Trump’s plan, the President shared his post on Truth Social. After Hamas accepted certain provisions of the peace deal, Trump asked Israel to immediately stop bombing over Gaza, as a lasting peace with Hamas could be possible. He also thanked every country which helped in brokering the peace deal on Truth social.
Trump called it a special day and mentioned the names of all countries who helped in the efforts. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also addressed the deal and confirmed that they are willing to work on the plan with Hamas. The military has also been asked to reduce their actions in Gaza to “minimum”.
