The NDA has finally released its manifesto for the Bihar legislative assembly election, a week before the first phase of the elections starts. The manifesto has some major promises to cater to the population. The most appealing one includes a promise to secure 1 crore government jobs for the locals in a state where migration is a common problem.
The manifesto also focuses on women’s empowerment as the government promises to target one crore women into “lakhpati didis”. A focus on infrastructure is another major focus of the manifesto, as the government plans to build seven expressways and four airports in the state. Building 50 lakh pucca houses, providing free rations and 125 units of free electricity have been highlighted. To boost human capital, free treatment for 5 lakh has been announced.
BJP’s chief JP Nadda and Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of the state released the ‘sankalp patra’ in the presence of other senior party leaders. The alliance consists of parties including the JDU, BJP, Chirag Paswan’s LJP, and some other parties.
A major focus has been given to the youth in the state. The government promised to conduct a skill census and provide skill-based employment to the youth if elected again. The manifesto also aims to establish ‘Centres of Excellence’ in the sports city of Bihar. Under the Women’s Employment Scheme, the government has decided to provide financial assistance of 2 lakh for women’s employment to the eligible beneficiaries.
Infrastructure push by creating new structures and modernizing the 3,600 km rail tracks has been announced. In one of the major announcements to boost the state’s GDP, airports in 10 cities have been announced. Additional factories and industrial parks in cities will also be constructed as part of the manifesto.
Focus on creating a better MSME sector, and making Bihar the hub of silk and textile production in South Asia is also promised by the NDA government. For the farmers, other than a compulsory MSP, the government has also announced a new scheme, the Karpuri Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme to give additional 3,000 Rs to the farmers.
Better education, creation of medical infrastructure and making the social sector more inclusive are other major promises under the manifesto. The Party’s CM face is Nitish Kumar against Tejashwi Yadav, who is the face of the INDIA alliance.
