On Friday, 28 November, the Prime Minister said that the country was witnessing a new renaissance of culture with the completion of the Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, and the expansion of Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain.
The address was made during the recent event where the Prime Minister unveiled a 77-foot-tall Ram Statue in South Goa, as part of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Jeevotham Mutt’s 550th year celebration in Partagali, Cancona. The government of Goa also said that the statue is the tallest Lord Ram statue in the world.
The Prime Minister said that the cultural awakening being witnessed by us will inspire future generations in many ways and help them stay connected to their roots. Talking about Goa, PM Modi said that several temples in the state have been deconstructed in its history, and its traditional culture has also faced destruction.
He emphasised that though the phases have impacted the language and culture of the state, it could not take away the spirit of the people, which is alive and thriving now. He added that the uniqueness of the culture of Goa was its ability to revive its culture despite changes. He also praised the Mutt and described its contribution in preserving Goa’s culture for the past 500 years.
Despite the changing era and period, he highlighted that the Mutt continued to work in the right direction and did not lose track. In fact, it provided the right direction to the people, who became its identity. Talking about “Vikshit Bharat” (developed India), the Prime Minister said that a country is united when its people, and its region, stand together, and the Shri Samsthan Gokarn Jeevottam Mutt was the bridge that united people.
Addressing the gathering, he also asked the people to make nine resolutions. These included planting trees, conservation of water, accepting swadeshi, travelling the country, a healthy lifestyle, natural farming, sports and yoga, and helping the needy. PM Modi also inaugurated a theme park based on Ramayana on the occasion. He described it as the new centre of Yoga and meditation, inspiring upcoming generations.
