After weeks of rumours and chaos, Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal confirmed that their wedding has been called off. The Indian cricketer and her ex-fiance took to their Instagram handles and confirmed the news themselves. After declaring the News, they have also asked their audience to allow space and privacy to their families.
Smriti posted a story and stated that she wanted to move forward and asked her fans to respect her privacy. In the post, she explained that she was a private person and wanted to maintain the same. Further elaborating on the issue without revealing too much, the Indian cricketer confirmed that her marriage with her long-time partner has been called off, and she wanted to focus on the larger purpose of her life.
Talking about which, she said that she would continue to represent her country at the highest stage and move on in life. Palash Muchhal also spoke about it on his social media handle and confirmed that the wedding was cancelled and that he would like to move on and take a step back from his personal life. He also mentioned that it was difficult for him to see people believing so easily in gossip and everything they saw on the internet. He further added that his team will take strict action against anybody spreading false rumours against him and his family, or making defamatory statements against him.
The couple was expected to tie the knot on 23rd November in the cricketer’s hometown in Sangli. Most of the wedding functions were also completed, but the wedding, which was attended by several celebrities, was cancelled. After Smriti’s father was admitted to the hospital over health issues, following which Palash was also said to be admitted due to worsening health conditions.
Post this, a lot of rumours regarding the wedding and its cancellations started spreading. However, no one commented on it for a long time, though both Palash and Smriti’s father were discharged from the hospital. Later, Palash’s sister, Palak, made a statement saying that both families have been through a tough time and wanted space to process the situation. Palash’s mom also made remarks stating that the wedding had only been postponed and not cancelled, but both families were deeply disturbed and wanted some time.
However, all the rumours have been put on hold as the duo has made a confirmation regarding the wedding being called off.
