IIFA 2025 was organised in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event garnered attention for the winners of the night, the unexpected cross-overs, and dazzling performances. The show hosts were Kartik Aryan, Karn Johar, and Aparshakti Khurrana. It is the 25th year of the annual award ceremony of Bollywood. The event took place in two days, on the 8th and the 9th of March, at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convocation Centre.
Known as one of the biggest Bollywood shows it is attended by many celebrities and industrialists. This year’s function was also attended by Anthony Pettis, the legendary MMA fighter. A major highlight was Kareena Kapoor Khan’s performance as a tribute to her grandfather Raj Kapoor, for completing 100 years in Hindi cinema. This year’s celebration also marked the 50th anniversary of Sholay, while Kareena’s performance stayed with the audience. The electrifying entertainer by Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit became the talk of the town for days.
The award for the best actor in the lead role, male, was bagged by Kartik Aryan for his performance in Bhul Bhulaiya 3. The most unexpected yet cherished and deserving award for the best actor in the lead role, female, went to Nitanshi Goel for her brilliant performance in Lapata Ladies. The best director also went to the director of Lapata Ladies, Kiran Rao.
The most talked about movies of the year were Lapata Ladies and Kill, for the right reasons. The award for best cinematography was given to Rafef Mehmood for Kill. Pratibha Ranta bagged the best debut female award, while the best debut male went to Lakshya. With compelling storytelling and an amazing storyline, the award for best debut director went to Kunal Kemmu for Madgaon Express. Another name that deserves mention is the award for the best actor in a negative role which was won by Raghav Juyal for his impactful performance in Kill.u for a long time.
