The NIA received a breakthrough in the Delhi car blast as it got hold of a resident from Faridabad who has been said to provide shelter to Umar Nabi, the doctor who was involved in the car blast and was driving the car on 10th November.
As per news agency ANI, the NIA reported that Soyab is the seventh accused in the case arrested from Dhauj. New investigations confirmed that Soyab has provided logistical support to Umar before the Red Fort car blast, where several citizens were killed, and many were injured. As per sources, NIA has arrested six people in the Red Fort car blast who were alleged to have aided Nabi. The seventh person, Soyab, is said to be the latest link in the ‘white-collar’ terror module busted by joint operations of the Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana police.
As per PTI, a spokesperson also confirmed that the agency has been continuing its research and is collaborating with several state police departments to find any more people involved in the violent incident. Before Soyab, Amir Rashid Ali was arrested by the police, and was alleged to have provided a safe house to Nabi. He was also the last person to be in contact with Nabi before the car blast.
The car blast took place on 10th November, when an explosive-laden slow-moving car went up into flames near the gate of the Red Fort metro station. The blast took place a few hours after eight people, including three doctors from Faridabad’s Al Falah University, were arrested with nearly 2,800 kilograms of explosives. Authorities later unveiled that the group was a part of a terror module linked with Jaish-e-Muhammad and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
As per reports by the PTI, Nabi, who was a resident of Pulwama, was said to be the most radicalised member of the group and also the key link operating the terror nexus spread across Haryana, Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh.
