The body of the victim was chopped into pieces, put in the drum, and sealed with cement, in a gruesome manner. Saurabh Rajput, the victim returned home on his daughter’s birthday to surprise the family when he found out about the extramarital affair between his wife Muskan Rastogi, and her lover Sahil Shukla.
Investigations revealed a tragic story of love, betrayal, and ruthlessness. The deceased mother demanded the death penalty for his wife and alleged lover and stated that she killed her husband and locked the body in a room after leaving for a trip. Saurabh went missing on March 4, and the body was recovered only after a few laborers were trying to move the drum from the house and struggled due to its weight.
In the event of this process, the lid was opened and the foul smell from the drum made the labourers suspicious after which they immediately informed the police and the matter came to light.
The chilling incident sent shock waves to the entire nation, as parents of both the accused and the deceased demanded punishment.

Muskan’s parents have disowned her and it was confirmed that she has been living away from her in-laws ever since the marriage in 2016. Further investigations will reveal the timeline of the incident. However, a disturbing incident like this requires proper counseling and punishment to avoid a similar event in the future.
