For a third time in just four months, shots were heard outside Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada. As per a local news outlet, News Derby, three rounds of firing were heard early this week. Reports confirm no injuries and casualties, but soon after the incident, police ran to the location.
The cafe co-owned by Kapil Sharma and his wife, Ginni Chatrath, is located in Surrey, British Columbia. For the first time, the cafe was attacked on 10th July, and the second attack, where over 25 shots were fired near the cafe, was heard on 8th August.
Soon after the attack, gangsters Goldy Dhillon and Kulvir Sidhu from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang took responsibility for the attack. Both Dhillon and Sidhu allegedly announced via a social media post that they do not hold any enmity against the public, while also warning them to stay away from the location where the cafe is located.
They also added a warning for their enemies, which read “Those with whom we have a dispute should stay away from us”. It also claimed that the people involved in illegal work and do not pay people accordingly must also be ready to face consequences. The warning also targeted Bollywood, though no names were mentioned; it read that the people who say ill about religion will be punished.
The post is yet to be verified by the police. But the chilling incident, which is the third shooting at Sharma’s Kap’s cafe, has shocked everyone. The alleged post by the gangster Dhillon also mentioned that he tried calling Sharma, but he did not hear the ring. He further claimed that if the same thing repeats, bullets will be heard in Mumbai.
Earlier in July, when the first round of shots were heard, the Laddi gang claimed responsibility. The gang is linked to the banned Babbar Khalsa International Khalistani outfit.
As per reports on why the cafe was targeted, it is assumed that since Salman Khan attended its inauguration, the Gang got involved. As per clips reported by India Today, Bishnoi’s gang member Harry Boxer agreed to the connection between Salman Khan’s visit and the firings at the cafe. While investigations are ongoing, Sharma has not made any official statement with regards to the latest attack.
Earlier, he asked people to stay calm and also stated that his team is staying strong and urged others to support him and his cafe in Canada.
