Agencies investigating the Delhi car blast found out that the terror module linked to Jaish-e-Muhammad, which allegedly included Dr Shaheen Ansari, Dr Parvez Ansari and others, was planning a major attack in six cities on 6th December, which marks the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992.
Sources revealed that the information was revealed during interrogations of Shaheen, Parvez, and Dr Muzzamil. The three individuals were arrested in the Red Fort car blast case, and have been collecting funds to plan an attack on 6th December. It has been reported that Dr Shaheen revealed major details of their funding sources and plans during her interrogation session.
The other suspects, including Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Muzzamil Ahmad Ganaie, Arif Nisar Dar, Maulvi Irfan Ahmad, and Zameer Ahmad Ahanger, are also being interrogated to reveal other important information on the terror module.
Early investigations have unveiled a possible five-phase plan made by the group. The first phase was creating a group linked to Jaish-e-Muhammad and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. In the second phase, they decided to procure materials and ammunition from Nuh and Gurugram and assemble the IEDs. The third phase included surveillance of potential targets and assembling the IEDs. In the fourth phase, the distribution of ammunition to other members was involved, while the final phase included the execution of the plan at different locations simultaneously.
Officials further stated that the plan of the group was to conduct a strike in August 2025, but logistical and financial bottlenecks delayed their plan, which was rescheduled in December. Investigations are also ongoing to find if the group was also planning an attack on 25 November during the religious flag hoisting ceremony in Ayodhya.
The names of the six cities have not been cleared, but security at all important locations has been increased.
